Barry Jacobs, known as the guru of direct response advertising, began his broadcasting and advertising career at CBS in 1959. After graduating from Temple University in 1962 with a bachelor’s degree in communications, he continued his career at WPVI and WPHL in Philadelphia. He then spent more than 25 years on the media side, including 14 years at KCOP and Telerep in Los Angeles.
