Essential Duties of the Position
- Sales:
- New Business Development
- Responsible for aggressively developing a pipeline of new business focused on stocking dealers and projects.
- Introduce new products and complementary products to new and existing dealers.
- Develop and carry out strategies to increase market share of our products with new and existing dealers.
- Execute and implement company promotions and programs.
- Prospect and develop new business targets/opportunities.
- Account Management
- Responsible for maintaining and protecting existing dealer business.
- Provide product knowledge support to dealer base.
- Address and resolve customer complaints and/or claims.
- Set-up and attend trade shows.
- Continue building relationships through excellent customer service and product resolution.
- Local Product Purchasing:
- Forecast and suggest order quantities of location-specific products as needed
- Works directly with buyer to place po’s within ERP system.
- Works with Treated Facility and Logistics on needs and deliveries.
- Assists in negotiations of pricing and programs with vendors while working directly with corporate buyer.
- Local Part-Code Maintenance:
- Responsible for alerting buyer of any stocking changes (ie. discontinuation or requests to add new stock items to inventory).
- Works with buyer on new part codes as needed.
- Reviewing min/max levels as needed with Buyer.
- Pricing Management:
- Work directly with corporate buyer on pricing, pricing changes and report location product changes as necessary.
- Set up and maintain customer price pages.
- Responsible for creation and maintaining a master dealer pricing template and provide to location sales manager.
- Responsible for getting standard pricing into the ERP system.
- Obsolete and/or Slow-Moving Inventory Management:
- Provide visibility on slow moving items to Sales Manager.
- Work to implement an exit strategy on these items with Sales manager and purchasing.
Non-Essential Duties of the Position
- Participate in location sales meetings as required.
- Other duties assigned by supervisor.
Essential Qualifications for The Position
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field and/or at least five to seven years of relevant experience
- At least five years’ experience in a commodity lumber distribution environment
- At least five years of lumber & treated lumber sales experience
- Above average computer skills
- The ability to multi-task in a sometimes fast paced environment
