We believe that we’re building one of America’s best small-town newspapers in the Hill Country of Texas.
If you want to tell great stories, have a chance to engage with a dynamic community and to live in one of the most beautiful places in the world, then this is a job for you. Located in Kerrville, Texas, The Daily Times is a six-days-a-week morning newspaper with a strong digital presence and a highly dedicated readership that loves its morning paper.
Where we need help is with storytelling to flesh out everything that is going on in the region west of San Antonio. This is an all-encompassing general assignment position with opportunities to contribute to our digital edition, the daily newspaper and our lifestyle magazine.
We value intellectual curiosity, enterprise and a can-do spirit — those who want to collaborate with our team. What we don’t want is grouchy, whiney or primadonnas. It’s pretty simple, we want you to write, tell stories, help build multimedia packages and enjoy the best job in the world — journalism. We also want to explore new ways to tell stories and to connect with our audience.
If you want to escape the factory-focused efforts of a big chain, we think you might really enjoy what we’re building here in the Hill Country. You’re not going to get rich, but this is a place where you can live big and thrive with a culture of innovation that values every member of the team, and looks beyond mandates and quotas. We have high expectations, but we’re not going to sacrifice quality in order to get there.
If this sounds like a great place to start, to land or just to enjoy, we want to hear from you. Please send a resume, clips or links to multimedia, to Louis Amestoy, managing editor, The Kerrville Daily Times, email@example.com.
