There’s a good chance you’ve heard a few things about cybersecurity in recent months. Maybe you’ve been reading about data breaches, which pose a constant threat to everyone’s data. There are nearly 3 million unfilled cybersecurity positions in organizations around the world. This shortage in workers has serious consequences for the safety and security of global data. No matter what you’ve heard, it shouldn’t be surprising if you find yourself considering a career in cybersecurity. That’s why Schreiner has started our Cyber Security Learning Community – get the benefits of a Liberal Arts education with the community of like-minded peers preparing for the expanding cyber security industry.
Students in the Cyber Security Learning Community (CSLC) start building their sense of community the very first week of class. CSLC involves academic help, lab sessions, mentoring and various activities with senior Cybersecurity students, as well as providing tools to be successful at Schreiner University. Students will start working on various assignments and projects in the Spring semester using the skills and knowledge learned from fall semester with the ability to demonstrate their skillsets in poster sessions during academic conferences.
